We are delighted to announce the Geoffrey Lancaster Keyboard Prize, which is made possible by the generosity of immediate past president Dr Andrew Lu OAM.
For many years the RSMC ran a piano competition every year, most recently alternating between the Gertrude Carey Memorial Awards for Young Pianists, the last being held in 2012, and the Edna Warren Award for Young Pianists, the last being held in 2017.
Once again, the Club is pleased to be able offer young keyboardists this opportunity to perform and gain recognition in a friendly, soirée setting.
The Prize is open to keyboard players 25 years of age or under. Each pianist is to present a solo performance programme of one or two pieces from the 18th and/or 19th centuries on a choice of one of either modern piano, fortepiano, clavichord or harpsichord.
