It is an honour to announce the fourth Max and Lorraine Kousins Award for Wind and Brass, which is made possible by the generosity of RSMC members Max and Lorraine Kousins.
The Club is pleased to be able to offer young wind and brass players this performance opportunity and to gain recognition in a friendly, soirée setting.
This award is a small gift to give encouragement for further studies in music. It may evolve that the winner of this scholarship is a future world star in the making and that would be wonderful. Music gives us all great pleasure and even though we like all instruments we felt that “wind” was often overlooked over strings and piano. This is simply a small token of our appreciation for hearing beautiful music that will always give great pleasure to all into the future.
Max and Lorraine Kousins
The Prize is open to wind or brass players 21 years of age or under. Each performer is to present a solo performance programme of 2-3 pieces, not exceeding 12 minutes actual performance time.
Entries close 15 August 2026
